JPC by Samsic proudly participated in Recycle Week 2024 to promote recycling and environmental sustainability across the UK. Spearheaded by Waste and Recycling Manager Gabriella Zeal, partnered with First Mile to deliver a series of interactive activities aimed at raising recycling awareness among employees on site as well as any Guests.
The campaign this year emphasised reducing the billions of items that end up in landfills unnecessarily, from yoghurt pots to perfume bottles. Such activities not only help divert waste from landfills but also encourage a circular economy, where materials are reused, recycled, or repurposed, reducing the need for virgin resources.
Gabriella’s efforts demonstrate JPC by Samsic’s commitment to sustainability and its role in driving the behavioural changes needed to protect the environment for future generations.
Gabriella quoted:
“Recycle week is an opportunity for us to educate our Guests on waste reduction and recycling best practice in a fun and interesting way that encourages everyone to be more mindful in their everyday choices. With the help of our waste contractors, First Mile, we brough recycle week alive with a number of exciting events including a Basketball Bin game, Waste Audit game, Clothes Swap Shop and Sustainable Fashion Seminar led by Kate Donald, an expert in the field. Every day was as busy as the day before, with a constant stream of people coming along, ready to learn and win prizes. It never fails to surprise me how exciting waste management can be when you approach it with a creative and open mind set.”
Jonathan Acott, Head of Experience at Chiswick Park-Enjoy Work reflected on the event, quoting
“Whenever you look at events like these there’s always concern as to whether your message is landing in a meaningful way and is it achieving what you want it to. Whenever Gabby is involved though you know it will work, her passion and enthusiasm is infectious. Watching the Guests at Chiswick Park learning about waste and recycling and having fun at the same time was great to see and the surprised faces when they learned something new was wonderful.”
